We already have the RB-Focus PowerBox V1 power distribution boxes available. It is a 12V DC distributor that will allow you to connect all your astronomical equipment in a simple way. Ideal for those who are starting out in the hobby of astrophotography, this gadget allows you to connect up to 4 accessories including a mount, filter wheel, cameras, and more by means of a single cable to the power source or battery. In addition, having everything centralized in one point facilitates cable management and avoids the famous problem of tangles that can damage a perfect night of capture.

The USB power ports allow supplying up to two hubs delivering a maximum of 3A. It is especially useful if you are in transition to a dedicated camera or adding equipment that needs 5V power such as USB heating bands.

Monitor the state of the battery at all times and do not run out of power. The led display allows you to know the voltage supplied to the equipment at all times, so you can keep the session under control and not have an unpleasant surprise.

It works -but not enough current for the HEQ5

I bought this device in January. It works well, but the plastic box is not very rigid, and it has deformed, RB focus should provide a metal or stronger plastic surround for this. I am using it to power two ZWO cameras and a ZWO focuser, but there is not enough current to power my HEQ5 (the red light flashes and it does not slew correctly) so I have to use a separate 12V 5A adaptor.

Hi Mike! We're genuinely sorry to hear about this issue. We're actively exploring new materials that can withstand higher temperatures, linked to the deformation problem you've highlighted. It's crucial to note that our power box is designed to effectively power not only this mount but even larger ones without any issues. Regarding the solution, increasing the input voltage, as specified by the mount and camera manufacturers (recommended to be over 13v), is key to preventing this issue. This adjustment isn't something we directly control, but rather something that needs attention on the user's end. The guidance for a higher voltage than 12v comes directly from those manufacturers. Your insights are incredibly helpful in pinpointing areas for improvement. We're here to support you through this and greatly appreciate your feedback!
